| Miniature Scottish Highlander |

The Scottish Highlander breed of cattle is a very anceint breed of cattle that lived for centuries in the rugged remote Scottish mountains or highlands. The extremely harsh conditions created a process of natural selection, where only the fittest and most adaptable highlands survived to carry on the breed. Because of this highland cattle will eat plants other cattle avoid. They both graze and browse. Thier meat tends to be leaner than most beef, as highlands get most of thier insulation from thier thick shaggy hair rather than subcutaneous fat. This coat also makes them a good breed for cold northern climates.
Highland cattle were the earliest registered breed, with the registry herd book established in 1884. Originally there were two distinct classes: the smaller usually black Kyloe like our Lord Vader whose primary domain was the islands off the west coast of northern Scotland. The other larger generally reddish highland was from the main land mountains of Scotland. In addition to red and black highland cattle are also dun and white colors. This breed also has a great temperment which makes them a great family pets.
Miniature highland cattle have all the same great things about them just smaller in size. This is a perfect breed for a hobby farmer.
